My wonderful husband built me this beautiful home. We lived in a 16x80 for 4 years. We lived on tope of each other, crowded, 2dogs, and poor Chase slept on the couch for the entire time.

We moved in the last day in February. Whit was so excited, that when I got home from work that he and Chase had already started moving stuff. Even though we just moved next door, it took a long time to move everything. I would have taken one room at a time and moved items in that I wanted to keep and gave away things I didn't want. But NOOOOOO, they stuck everything in each room... SO, with that being said. We put a bunch of stuff in this house that we do not need. I am supposed to be going thru each room and thru all the tubs we packed, but I just cannot get in to it.
So, we had insurance but we had to go back through the phase of construction again. It was not fun. We had to have the carpet replaced in our bedroom. So, while we were at it we had them pull up the ceramic tile in the master bath. When they popped it up after 4 weeks, it was still wet. We had a company come out, called ServePro and they assured me that this house was dryer than it was before the incident. Luckily for us, we used the best subflooring that they make now. It can stay under water for 50 years and still not warp or damage.

This is the front of the house from the street.

I am working from room to room working on caulking and trim work right now. Ok, so back to my story. We were in this house for less than 2 weeks when a hot water hose came loose from my jacuzzi tub and hot water ran for over 8 hours. So, the water floods my room, the masterbath, the master closet, the 1/2 bath, the laundry room, and the main hall leading to my room. So much water ran, that it flooded the basement, all the duct work and the heat unit. We had 6" of water standing in our basement and it ruined our belongings stored in the basement.

Back to the story. We were devastated to find mold starting to grow. I was so mad. I could have killed ServicePro. We then decided to pull up all the flooring that was exposed to water. We also pulled up some of my beautiful hardwood floor.
Again, lucky for us we had great guys doing the flooring. It looks awesome.
I changed the color of my carpet from White to brown/tan color. It is ok. I wish I could have kept white, but I was driving myself crazy with spots on it.
I am staying at home these days because of crooks, but I am enjoying it. So it is up to me to get this house done. I still have trim work, caulking, mirrors to put up, touch up painting, and tons of odds and ends to do.
We are living in the 2 main levels, but have to complete the 1st floor and the 4th floor. It is going to be finished in wood. We are going for the "rustic" look in there. It is going to be beautiful. We have all the wood and stuff, but we need our electrician to get his part done so everyone else to do their part.
I plan on having the biggest get together once I am finished with this house.
